Why Bumble contact deletion is awkward
Bumble offers a 'Block Contacts' feature similar to Tinder: upload your address book so Bumble hides your profile from anyone you know. Users sometimes enable this then later want to revoke or delete the upload.
Step-by-step
- 1
Open Bumble's block-contacts settings
Bumble app → Profile → Settings → Block Contacts.
- 2
Remove uploaded contacts
Tap individual contacts to unblock, or 'Remove All' to clear the entire list.
- 3
Revoke iOS Contacts access
iPhone Settings → Bumble → Contacts → None. Bumble can't read your address book on future launches.
- 4
Tidy the iPhone Contacts list
Use Delete Contacts to swipe through and trim. Less data means smaller surface for any app to harvest in the future.
How Delete Contacts helps
Dating apps continually mine the iPhone address book. Trimming the source with Delete Contacts — on-device only — is the durable fix.
